The FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar is already the most anticipated sporting tournament of the year. However, it has been made extra special, especially to Lionel Messi and millions of his ardent followers worldwide. The Argentine magician had hinted earlier that this will be his last World Cup, and right in Argentina’s first match against Saudi Arabia, Messi managed to create history.
Lionel Messi managed to find his name on the scoresheet as he put a simple penalty past the Saudi Arabia net. Hence, he now becomes the first Argentina player to score in four different World Cups- namely 2006, 2014, 2018 and 2022.
