The wedding season isn’t over yet. In 2021 we heard of so many celebrities getting married or engaged. The year gave us so many happy news and it’s not over yet. Yes, A R Rahman’s daughter Khatija got engaged on December 29 to Riyasdeen Mohamed Shaik. It was Khatija’s birthday on the same day.
Khatija took to Instagram to share the happy news with everyone. She also shared her picture from the engagement day along with Riyasdeen Mohamed Shaik. In the picture, we see Khatija in a beautiful pink burqa while Riyasdeen’s monochrome picture looked classy. She did not share more pictures from her engagement ceremony.
Along with the picture, Khatija wrote, “With the blessings of the Almighty I’m happy to announce to you all my engagement with Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed @riyasdeenriyan, an aspiring entrepreneur and a wizkid audio engineer. The engagement happened on 29th December, my birthday in the presence of close family and loved ones. #KhatijaRahmanEngagementWithRiyasdeen #ThankYou”
As soon as she posted the picture, congratulatory messages were pouring in for her in the comments section. Singer Neeti Mohan wrote, “Many many congratulations. This is such a wonderful moment @khatija.rahman @riyasdeenriya”. Harshdeep Kaur also commented on the picture and wrote, “Congratulations to the both of you. God Bless!!”
Khatija Rahman is a singer and has given her melodious voice to a few Tamil films. She made her singing debut with Pudhiya Manidha songs from Rajnikanth’s Enthiran. Khatija also lend her voice to Kriti Sanon’s Rock a bye baby from Mimi. The singer was also involved in a controversy earlier.
In 2020, writer Taslima Nasreen called her burqa suffocating and Khatija did not like the comment. She immediately reacted to the same and said that her burqa does not suffocate her and that it was her choice to wear what she wanted. Khatija recently sang at the Dubai Expo 2020. She along with 16-year-old pianist Lydian Nadhaswaram performed as a part of ‘Firdaus Orchestra’ on the occasion of World’s Children’s Day on November 20.
She sang her debut song, Farishton composed by her father. People praised her voice as she sang for the event.
