AP Global Investors Summit: 352 agreements, 13 lakh cr investment pledges, 6 lakh jobs projection key outcomes

AP Global Investors Summit 2023: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Saturday inaugurated several projects across sectors like Food Processing, Electronics, Textiles and Pharma on Day 2 of the summit.
Andhra Pradesh has received investment pledges worth Rs 13,05,663 lakh crore with a potential to create 6,03,223 jobs during the two-day Global Investors Summit (GIS), Reddy said.
He said 352 agreements were signed in 20 sectors, out of which the energy sector stood out through 40 deals and pledges worth Rs 8.84 lakh crore with a job creation potential of 1.9 lakh.
In his valedictory address on the second day of the investors summit, Reddy assured businesses that have committed investment in the state. The CM said his government is committed to ensure that the investments flourish in the state.
“The phenomenal optimism that we have witnessed during the past two days would encourage us to redouble our efforts and making the business environment in the state more conducive and more welcoming. Over the past three-and-a-half years of my government, we have seen the economy reviving at a relatively faster pace owing to the timely impetus we have given to the several sectors. We could ensure that the consumption and investment have not taken a nosedive even during the times of severe economic downturn caused by the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said.
On Day 1 of the summit, Reddy said investment proposals worth Rs 13 lakh crore received, with an employment opportunity for six lakh people. Reliance, Adani Group, Aditya Birla group, ReNew power, NTPC and Aurobindo Group among others were companies evinced interest to invest in the state, the CM informed.
He also said Visakhapatnam would become the executive capital of Andhra Pradesh in the days to come and he will be moving over to the port city.
“It is a proud moment to announce that the state has received 340 investment proposals with an investment of about Rs 13 lakh crore providing employment to almost six lakh people across 20 sectors,” the CM said.
