After three years of marriage, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli welcomed their baby girl Vamika in January this year. The couple has been keeping the privacy of their baby intact and only sharing glimpses of the little one on social media. On Friday, Anushka debuted on a magazine cover as a new mom.
After embracing motherhood, Anushka spoke about having her baby Vamika, how hard her first trimester was, how badly she wanted a baby shower and how husband Virat Kohli was by her side during the quarantine.
The actress shared that for her baby shower, she wasn’t able to get all her friends so the couple hosted an intimate puja at home with their immediate family members. “But to get everyone to quarantine in order to attend was hectic and I didn’t want to put my friends through that. So I ended up having a small ceremony at home, with my immediate family in attendance. One of the things this experience has taught me is to always look at the positives,” she told Grazia India magazine.
She shared that her first trimester was “awful” and had Virat been to a match, she wouldn’t have been able to accompany him. “It (quarantine) allowed Virat and I to spend a lot of time together because he wasn’t playing any matches at the time. Had he been travelling, I wouldn’t have been able to accompany him in my condition. My first trimester was awful, so it was nice to have him by my side, to handhold and be my cheerleader,” she said.
Anushka had announced her pregnancy last year in an adorable photo with Virat flaunting her baby bump. The actress welcomed Vamika in January. After several days when Anushka and the baby came back home from the hospital, she shared a picture with Virat and their newborn. On Vamika’s 6-month birthday, the actress posted a lovely picture of the baby girl in a cute frock.
She wrote, “Her one smile can change our whole world around ! I hope we can both live up to the love with which you look at us, little one Happy 6 months to us three.”
On the work front, Anushka hasn’t announced a project yet. She was last seen in Aanand L Rai’s Zero alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. However, last year Anushka embraced the role of a producer and released projects like Paatal Lok and Bulbbul.
