Antilia bomb scare case: Bombay High Court rejects former cop Pradeep Sharma’s bail plea

The Bombay High Court  rejected the bail petition of former ‘encounter specialist’ of Mumbai Police, Pradeep Sharma, in the Antilia bomb scare case and for the killing of businessman Mansukh Hiran.
The plea was dismissed by a division bench of Justices Revati Mohite Dere and R N Laddha. Notably, the former Mumbai cop had approached the high court last year against an order of a special NIA court rejecting his bail plea. The NIA court passed the order in February 2022. The NIA accused Sharma of helping his former colleague Sachin Waze in killing Hiran.
An explosives-laden SUV was found near industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s residence ‘Antilia’ in south Mumbai on February 25, 2021. Notably, the SUV was owned by Hiran. However, he was found dead in a creek in neighbouring Thane on March 5 2021.
The former encounter specialist was arrested in connection with the case in June 2021 and is currently in judicial custody.
