Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan’s make-up artist Deepak Dutta Sawant got his Rs 1.4 lakh phone back after he lost it at the Dadar railway station. Sawant, was far away from Mumbai, halfway to Amritsar on a train when he realised he did not have his phone with him. He called up his number from a different phone and introduced himself as Amitabh Bachchan’s make-up artist. The phone was submitted to the police and they had a heart-warming tale to narrate to Sawant.
According to the police, instead of attempting to keep the expensive phone that Dashrat discovered lying in the station’s seating area, he immediately handed the expensive phone to the Government Railway Police (GRP). According to the Times of India, Dashrat said that he did not know how to use an expensive gadget and never kept someone else’s belonging with him, anyway.
The police informed him that he found the phone and asked nearby passengers if it belonged to them but they denied it. He then decided to take the high-end Samsung Galaxy Fold 4 to the police. Dashrat later went home and fell asleep when he received the call from the police, who along with the make-up artist, were gushing with gratitude toward the elderly porter.
The phone was handed over to Deepak’s son Dhanveer. According to the reports, Dhanveer rewarded Dashrat with an amount of Rs 1,000 for his honesty.
