The Board of Control Cricket in India (BCCI) officially named it’s squad for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup which will be held in the UAE.
The team is star-studded with the likes of skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, Shafali Verma, Smriti Mandhana, & Jemimah Rodrigues. All eyes will be on Harmanpreet as she brings out extensive experience which would be a X-factor for India in the World Cup.
Harmanpreet will be assisted by vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, who is expected to open the batting with the swashbuckling batter Shafali Verma, while Dayalan Hemalatha is another top-order option in the squad. Apart from them, Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, and Richa Ghosh will boost a formidable batting line-up.
Wicketkeeper-batter Yastika Bhatia and spinbowling sensation Shreyanka Patil have been included in the squad. The selection of Yastika and Shreyanka is subject to fitness as both players have been battling injuries over the last couple of months. India will also have three traveling reserves for the event in the UAE.
