Fans were left super excited when Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s first silver screen collaboration was announced. After waiting for a very long time, the moviegoers finally got to see their on-screen chemistry, and it won’t be wrong to say that everyone was impressed.
Alia and Ranbir teamed up for Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva, which hit the screens on September 9. The movie has turned out to be a massive box office hit. Interestingly, it has become the number one worldwide Hindi movie of 2022.
Recently, Ayan took to social media to share that Brahmastra has earned Rs 425 crore at the global box office in just 25 days.
He captioned his post, “#NO. 1 WORLDWIDE HINDI MOVIE OF 2022! THANK YOU !!! HAPPY NAVAMI, EVERYONE !!! #gratitude #brahmastra”
Backed by Karan Johar under his banner Dharma Productions, the movie also stars Mouni Roy, Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna in important roles. Shah Rukh Khan has also done a cameo in the film.
The second instalment of the movie has been titled Dev and it is scheduled for a 2025 release. At an event recently, Ayan went on to reveal that the team is planning to release Brahmastra‘s third instalment in 2026.
Apart from this, both Alia and Ranbir have other interesting projects in the pipeline as well. The actress will be soon making her Hollywood debut with Heart of Stone, co-starring Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot. Ranbir, on the other hand, will be seen sharing screen space with Shraddha Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna in Luv Ranjan’s untitled next and Animal respectively. The lovebirds, who got married earlier this year, are also expecting their first child.
