India’s sabse bada khiladi Akshay Kumar and his wife Twinkle Khanna aka Mrs Funnybones celebrate their wedding anniversary today, January 17. The two got married in an intimate wedding on January 17, 2001. One of Bollywood’s power couple, the duo have been sending social media into a tizzy with their chemistry and easy banter for years.
While Akshay has cemented his place in Bollywood as one of the most bankable stars, delivering hits both on the big screen and on OTT platforms, daughter of legendary actor Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, Twinkle Khanna, after a modest run with films turned to writing and is now one of the most celebrated authors and columnists from tinsel town.
On the occasion of their 21st wedding anniversary, the Atrangi Re actor had a sweet note for his Tina. Akshay shared a candid snap with Twinkle from a cafe, where the two can be seen in an animated conversation, and wrote, “Twenty one years since we’ve been married and yet it feels like I’m just getting to know her. Thank you for making each day feel like the first Happy Anniversary Tina #21YearsOfAdventure”
You know, we are so different that if we met at a party today, I don’t know if I would even talk to you. Him: I would definitely talk to you./ Me: Why am I not surprised. So like what? You would ask me out? /Him: No, I would say, ‘Bhabhi ji, how is Bhai Sahab, kids fine? Ok Namaste.’/ #21yearsoflaughter”
Meanwhile, on the eve of their anniversary, Akshay, who is seldom seen commenting on Twinkle’s posts and columns, finally took to Twitter and confessed that he finds ‘it tough to understand the language.’
However, Twinkle’s recent piece managed to be an exception. Twinkle’s latest column speaks about ‘love, loss, and happiness’. Akshay took to Twitter and shared, “I don’t comment too often on her column because I find it tough to understand the language. But this one by @mrsfunnybones connected at a deeper level. “Happiness is not a pursuit, it is an accident.” So true, so profound.”
