In the latest development with respect to the Sandalwood industry, the veteran actress Leelavathi and her son and actor Vinod Raj have distributed food kits to junior artists as per a report published by TOI.
Leelavathi entered the Kannada film industry as a junior artist and hence she can understand the pain of junior artists and wants to do her bit by helping them with food says her son Vinod.
It can be noted that Leelavathi and her son Vinod are well-known for their philanthropic works and often does charity initiatives. This time too, the Mother-son combination has come forward to help the needy.
Both mother-son duo urging the affluent class of the society to come forward to help the needy are making donations from their farming earnings.
Reportedly, Vinod has said that her mother understands how difficult it is to make ends meet without a steady source of income and hence she took the initiative of distributing food kits to junior artists.
It can be recalled that the real star of the Kannada film industry Upendra had announced about 3000 food kits distribution to film workers through his fan club yesterday.
Post his announcement, a lot of other big personalities from other fields too joined his hands and announced their share of contribution to the cause initiated by the star.
Now, Leelavathi took one step further and distributed food kits to artists along with her son. So, in a way, people from all walks of life and also from the film industry are coming together to help the needy people.
Leelavathi is one of the senior and finest actresses of Kannada cinema and has worked in more than 400 Kannada films in her entire acting career. She has also worked in Telugu and Tamil films as well. If all put together, she has worked in more than 600 movies.
