The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) women’s team had an absolute ball celebrating Holi and playing with the colours on Tuesday, March 7. However, the overseas players with blonde hair were frustrated that they couldn’t get out the pink colour out of their hair despite multiple washes. After Ellyse Perry, England captain and all-rounder expressed her frustration with the stubborn colour in her hair.
“Anyone know how to get pink Holi powder out of blonde hair? Asking for a friend…” Knight asked on Twitter. As soon as she posted it, she received hilarious responses from her teammates, let alone the fans. Pacer Kate Cross, who is one of the commentators in the ongoing Women’s Premier League (WPL), suggested Knight ‘shave’ her head in a wild tip while spinner Alex Hartley wrote “Prove it” asking her captain to show the colour still stuck in her hair.
Several fans gave suggestions that the players, especially the overseas ones should have put some oil into their hair before playing Holi. Some said that the colour might take a week or even two to go out completely.
After a fun-filled day with the teammates, the RCB side will shift its focus back to cricket with a game to play on Wednesday, March 8 against the Gujarat Giants. The Women’s Day match, for which entry is free for all at the Brabourne Stadium, will be crucial for either side as both are coming off two consecutive losses.
While the Giants lost to Mumbai Indians in the tournament opener and then to the UP Warriorz in a thriller, the Bangalore side has suffered colossal defeats to the two best teams in the tournament, Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians. RCB have a strong squad, however, they have been unable to get performances out of their star players. Thursday will provide them with an opportunity to turn the corner and help RCB get their first win in WPL.
