One of India’s most popular cricketers in current times is none other that Sanju Samson and he enjoys a sensational following on social media. While he has amassed a huge fan following, Samson himself enjoyed a fanboy moment wehen he got to meet the iconic Superstar Rajinikanth at his home.
Sanju Samson visited the house of the Superstar Rajinikanth in Chennai on the invitation of the veteran. This was nothing short of a dream come true moment for the Kerala born cricketer, as he shared a picture of himself with Rajinikanth on Twitter. In fact, in a heartfelt message on Twitter, Samson revealed that he was a Rajni fan from the age of 7, and his dream came true 21 years later.
“At the age of 7 already being a Super Rajni fan,,I told my parents ..See one day I will go and meet Rajni sir in his house… After 21 years,that day has come when The Thalaivar invited me,” Samson wrote on Twitter.
In an interview to The Indian Express, Sanju Samson had expressed his love for Rajinikanth. In fact, when asked how he spent his lockdown days, the Kerala batsman said that he spent time meditating, in addition to reading Steve Waugh’s autobigraphy and watching Rajinikanth movies and some of his favourites from Malayalam cinema.
Sanju Samson last played for India in a T20 game against Sri Lanka, after which he was ruled out due to injury. He is not included in the ODI squad for the series against Australia. However, with the absence of Shreyas Iyer due to injury, Samson is one of the frontrunners to replace him in the squad.
Sanju Samson will be next seen in action as he takes the field and dons the captain’s role for his franchise Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2023. RR have got a decent squad and with the valuable additions of Joe Root, Adam Zampa and Jason Holder.
