Two celebrities who have always spoken what’s on their mind and heart without a filter are Adnan Sami and Kangana Ranaut. Calling spade a spade, the two aren’t afraid of saying what’s on their mind. And another thing the two have in common is that Adnan and Kangana were honoured with the Padma Shri on the same day for their outstanding contribution to the field of art.
Some people, however, have called out Kangana’s honour and asked her to return her Padma Shri award. The reason that a few people want her to return her Padma Shri is on the grounds of her recent statement on the freedom of India. Adnan Sami, in an exclusive interaction with Times Now’s Navika Kumar, went on to speak about it at the News Hour. He went on to say, ”
The beautiful part about our country is that it’s a democracy. You can say whatever you want, anybody, Kangana can say what she wants. Whether you agree with it, or you don’t agree with it, you have the right to disagree. But turning around and saying ‘return it’, excuse me, let it go, first of all you saying it doesn’t make a difference and if she says something, doesn’t change the reality. Combining them to make it an issue, it’s not an issue, these are actually non-issues. These people who prop up from nowhere are doing it for their own relevance to grab a little bit of headlines on the basis of other people, otherwise no one would give a damn to who they are.
So the point is, they end up using these kind of big, heavy words, ‘return the Padma Shri,’ it’s like okay, I’m not going to listen to what you have to say, but because you’re saying Padma Shri, so I have to listen to it. But the fact of the matter is, that it’s nonsense and it’s inconsequential. I’m not saying what was said was correct or wrong, but someone has the right to give an opinion.
The Lift Kara De singer also went on to add that if someone has an inquiry, they have the right to follow the right way to raise it and come to an educated conclusion. It’s still left to see how Kangana will react to the same.
