Ind Vs Aus: Can India Exploit Travis Head’s Vulnerability At Gabba; Know Details

The Australian left-handed batter, Travis Head has been at the forefront of Australia’s success in the white ball and red ball cricket. Aggressive, Fearless and at times audacious, he has carved out a unique batting style that forfeited his opponents to work up for a “Plan” of his dismissal. But the Gabba test has proved out to be somewhat challenging for the Aussie star as he has been dismissed at duck in the previous 3 innings of the Gabba pitch in test matches.

Head and Gabba

Gabba has managed to restrict the flow of runs from head’s bat. The Gabba has been a challenging venue for Travis Head, with the Australian batter suffering three consecutive golden ducks there. This streak started in 2022 against South Africa and continued till earlier this year against the West Indies. In the first two instances, Head was dismissed after chasing deliveries down the leg side, offering routine edges to the wicketkeeper off Kagiso Rabada and Kemar Roach, respectively. However, the third golden duck came in a different manner. Head was undone by a fiery yorker from the talented Shamar Joseph, who had an outstanding performance, claiming a seven-wicket haul and leading the West Indies to victory. This sequence of dismissals has made The Gabba a particularly difficult ground for Head, marking a troublesome chapter in his career at the venue.

Although looking at the current form of Travis Head and his obsession with scoring runs against India suggests somewhat different in his intent. Head scored 141 runs in the Adelaide Oval during the first innings of the pink ball test breaking his own record of the fastest pink ball century in Test format. But it would be interesting to see if the visitors can make the history repeat itself in Gabba from the 2021 BGT edition and prevent Head from putting up numbers on the board or will Head turn discontinue the Gabba’s history with him.
