Agra-Lucknow Expressway: Uttar Pradesh, which is managing multiple projects related to the expressway, is set to undertake the renovation of the Agra-Lucknow Expressway. It will soon be converted into 8-lane road from six lanes. The redevelopment work on the expressway is estimated to cost Rs 1939 crore. One of the main reasons for the lane expansion is to enhance passenger safety.
UPEIDA To Renovate
The responsibility for this work has been assigned to the Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA). Following an inspection by the Chief Secretary, the Uttar Pradesh government has approved the redevelopment work of the expressway.
The proposal for the expansion of lanes has already been passed in the cabinet meeting. Preparations are underway for the expansion of the lanes.
Agra-Lucknow Expressway Inspection
According to media reports, the Chief Secretary of the UP government, Manoj Kumar Singh, inspected the Agra-Lucknow Expressway on November 29, 2024. Apart from this Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Anand had also inspected the 65 km route of expressway in the district and made a report on it. Which he sent it to the government. The report made suggestions regarding installing speed governors and increasing the number of cameras.
According to media reports, one lane collapsed due to overloaded vehicles. The company RGBL is repairing it.
