Comedian Sunil Pal Alleges Kidnapping, Police File Case Against Unknown Person

On December 2, 2024, popular comedian-actor Sunil Pal was reported missing, prompting his wife to file a complaint at Santacruz Police Station. After two days, Sunil returned home and revealed a harrowing ordeal, claiming he was kidnapped and forced to pay ₹8 lakh as ransom.

Case Registered Against Unknown Suspect

The Mumbai Police have now filed a case against an unidentified individual for alleged kidnapping and extortion. In a statement shared with the media, officials confirmed the case had been transferred to the Lalkurti police station for further investigation. According to the police, ₹5 lakh was reportedly extorted from Sunil Pal’s family as part of the ransom.

Sunil Pal Declines Police Protection

Speaking to media outlets, Sunil Pal disclosed details of his traumatic experience, including being blindfolded and verbally abused during his captivity. Despite his ordeal, he has refused police protection, stating that it would distress his children. “The police are vigilant and have been in constant touch, but I turned down protection for my family’s peace of mind,” Sunil shared.

The comedian noted that his wife remains deeply shaken by the incident, and he himself is struggling to move past the terrifying events of recent days. Sunil expressed his hope for swift action from law enforcement, having already provided his statements to the authorities.
