Virat Kohli, the star Indian batter was dismissed for just 7 runs off 8 balls in the first innings of the second Test against Australia in Adelaide on Friday. Fresh from his 30th Test century in Perth, Kohli was unable to replicate that form in the opening phase of the pink-ball Test. He fell to a short rising delivery from Mitchell Starc, the ball took him by surprise and sharply angled towards slips, Kohli, could not manage the bounce, was dismissed as the ball was caught at slip. The way he was dismissed was quite similar to his first-innings dismissal in Perth, where an inside edge was induced by a similar delivery from Josh Hazlewood, which was also collected by the slip fielder. Despite all his recent success, Kohli again failed to deal with the short-pitched deliveries in challenging conditions.
