Amid Diljit Dosanjh, Coldplay’s Tickets Scam; Kailash Kher Says, ‘Won’t Allow My Concert Tickets To Be Sold In Black’

Kailash Kher hosted a grand concert in Delhi for free and thousands of people gathered to catch him singing live. Amid the popular artists like Diljit Dosanjh and Coldplay hosting big concerts in India, this has led to many tickets being sold unethically. While exclusively speaking to News24, Kailash Kher shares how artists can be responsible while hosting such grand events and why he decided to host his concert in Delhi for free.

The ‘Teri Deewani’ fame singer tells us, “When it comes to concerts like this, we too had a choice. There is a crowd of almost 10,000 people here. We could have charged even ₹10 per ticket, which would have easily covered some of the expenses. But we chose not to. India has suffered a lot. Many have deceived and exploited India over the years. Because of this, if India has lost anything, its trust, integrity and confidence. That’s what we want to restore.”

Sharing why decided to keep the concert free, Kher adds, “That’s why, even for such large-scale crowd management, we decided to keep it free. Everything is free—absolutely free—even transportation is free. Of course, it’s organized systematically. Even for free entry, people must register. A person must be somewhat literate to register themselves. This ensures that for security purposes, we have proper data. So, no one gets hurt, there’s no injury, no theft, and nothing goes wrong.”

The singer also assures his fans he won’t ever let his concert tickets be sold in an unethical manner. He concludes, ‘Delhiites are very intelligent people, so we will never charge money unnecessarily, nor will we allow tickets to be sold in black. We will continue to bring the best entertainment to Delhi, to India, and to the world.”

Meanwhile, he tells us how he keeps his work relevant in today’s time where AI is used and music is created for 30 seconds social media reels.

Addressing this issue, ‘Allah Ke Bande’ singer shares, “In today’s time, whatever work you do from the soul, whatever you create yourself—whether it’s songs or launching new musicians—whatever you share, if it is done with true sincerity, it will always be meaningful, eternal, and relevant. It will never change. Look, the moon never changes, the sun never changes, rivers never change, and mountains never change. Nature is always constant. That’s why we should always stay true to our nature. That’s all.”

The Mehar Rangat Festival 2024 was a huge hit in Delhi. Before Kailash Kher, Ramveer Nath Soda And the Been Jogis, Aamir Bhiyani and R Bharat Brass Band, Jumme Khan, Barnali Hota, Rupam Bharnarhia, Firerajaa and Fireranii entertained the audience with their spectacular performances. These talented artists successfully captivated thousands with their songs, dance, and unique acts.
