Anti-Corruption Forum Accuses Bengaluru Corporation Of Misappropriating Rs 46,300 Crore

President of Anti-Corruption Forum NR Ramesh has made an accusation against Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) for misappropriating the public fund of Rs 46,300 crore is the past decade.

 

As per media reports, NR Ramesh has accused BBMP for misusing the public funds. A complaint sent to the Enforcement Directorate (ED), implicates Commissioner of BBMP Tushar Girinath, administrative officer Umashankar and 18 senior IAS officers in one of the biggest municipal scams ever in India.

According to the letter by NO Ramesh, the funds which were allocated for road development projects between the year 2013 to 2014 and 2023 to 2024, were misused.

From the Rs 46,300 crore allotted during the period of 9.5 years , more than 75% of the amount has been siphoned off.

To prove his statements, NR Ramesh has given a 4,113 pages documents to the ED. NR Ramesh urged ED to investigate this matter under Prevention of Money Laundering Act and other laws too.

The complaint includes the name of several officers who are on higher positions, this include BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath.

They are accused of fraud, corruption, forgery and misuse of power. The Anti-Corruption Forum has urged ED to register a case under the relevant sections. They also requested have to have investigation on it.
