Virat Kohli hit his 30th Test ton in the Perth Test against Australia on Sunday. It was his ninth Test century against Australia and seventh on the opposition’s soil. He stitched notable partnerships with Yashasvi Jaiswal, Washington Sundar and Nitish Reddy to take India’s overall lead beyond 500 runs. With his hundred, Kohli has made a remarkable comeback after the form slump in the 0-3 series whitewash against New Zealand recently. India declared their second innings on 487/6, with a total lead of 533 runs.
This was the first time Virat Kohli scored a hundred in the SENA (South Africa, England, New Zealand, Australia) countries after 2018. Kohli has been one of the real match winners for the India national cricket team in the modern day cricketing era and the latter has always performed to his best when he has come to Australia. While he has achieved a hundred in Perth, he will look to increase the tally even more by going forward in the series.
