AR Rahman and his wife, Saira Banu announced their separation on Tuesday evening. Coincidently, his bassist Mohini Dey also announced her divorce with her husband Mark Hartsuch. After this incident netizens started speculating a connection between with AR Rahman’s and Mohini Dey’s divorce, but Saina’s lawyer has cleared the air. She dismissed all the allegations in a recent interview and said;
“There is no connection at all. Saira and Mr. Rahman made this decision on their own. Every long marriage goes through ups and downs, and I am extremely happy that if it has come to an end, it has done so in a dignified manner. Both Rahman and Saira will continue to support each well. Both of them are extremely genuine, and this decision was not taken lightly. It is not what you would call a sham marriage.”
Her lawyer further clarified that Saira and AR Rahman are separating due to some ongoing differences, and no third party is involved. The duo are separating in a dignified manner, and they will continue to support each other.
AR Rahman And Saira Banu Divorce:
Saira Banu’s lawyer, Vandana Shah, issued a joint statement on the couple’s behalf, confirming their decision to part ways. Her lawyer issued a statement: “After many years of marriage, Mrs Saira has made the difficult decision to separate from her husband Mr AR Rahman. Despite their deep love for each other, the couple has found that the tensions and difficulties have created an insurmountable gap between them, one that neither party feels able to bridge at this time. Mrs Saira requests privacy and understanding from the public during this challenging time.”
Music-composer AR Rahman later wrote on X, “We had hoped to reach the grand thirty, but all things, it seems, carry an unseen end. Even the throne of God might tremble at the weight of broken hearts. Yet, in this shattering, we seek meaning, though the pieces may not find their place again. To our friends, thank you for your kindness and for respecting our privacy as we walk through this fragile chapter.”
