SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, US President-elect Donald Trump’s close ally, has recently commented on President Joe Biden’s latest decision to officially allow Ukraine to use American missiles to strike deep into Russian territory. He expressed skepticism over Biden’s move by responding to a post, that read “libs love war. War facilitates bigger government.” He simply replied ‘True’.
Musk has earlier criticized the USA’s prolonged involvement in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. He had advocated for a negotiated settlement and warned against the risks of escalation.
With two months left in office, Joe Biden has reportedly allowed Ukraine to use US long-range missiles to target Russia on Sunday afternoon. The New York Times reported that the US missiles – Army Tactical Missile Systems or ATACMS, could be used to strike western Russia’s Kursk region to protect Ukrainian security forces against attacks from both Russian and North Korean forces.
However, Musk is not the only one among Trump’s close confidants to condemn Biden’s decision. Richard Grenell, a former acting director of national intelligence under Trump has accused Biden of “escalating the wars before he leaves office.”
However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has not yet confirmed the approval to strike. He wrote in a social media post, Zelensky wrote, “There’s been much said in the media today that we have received approval to take relative actions. But strikes are not carried out with words. These things are not announced. The missiles will speak for themselves.”
