The wait is finally over, and it’s officially confirmed that actor Sreeleela will take forward the legacy of Samantha Prabhu in Pushpa 2. A leaked picture from the sets of the awaited sequel shows her dancing with Allu Arjun for a dance number, which is expected to be the highlight of the film.

In the now-viral picture, Allu Arjun is seen dressed in a bright red co-ord set with floral detailing, whereas Sreeleela wears a black outfit with golden embellishments. Her navel piercing and nose pin make her look sensuous and sharp. The picture appears to be a still from the rehearsals of the item song, with background dancers chatting with each other.

The internet has gone crazy over the leaked photo and can’t wait to see the actual video. While most are excited for Sreeleela’s performance, there is a section that has started comparing her to Samantha, who had raised the bar so high. For the unversed, Samantha stole all the limelight with her moves in the song ‘Oo Antava Oo Oo Antava’, in Pushpa: The Rise. The song later became a chartbuster.

One person commented, “Can’t wait for Pushpa 2’s item song on the big screen,” while another wrote, “She is a better dancer than Samantha, but to beat an iconic performance, it needs to be iconic too.”

Before Sreeleela, several other actors were considered for the item song. Tripti Dimri, in fact, gave an audition too, but could not impress the makers. Later, Janhvi Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor were also considered, but some reason or the other led to them not becoming a part of the film. As per recent reports, Samantha might join Sreeleela for this song and surprise the audience.

Pushpa 2: The Rule is the sequel to Sukumar’s 2021 film Pushpa: The Rise. It will feature Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil in their iconic roles of Pushpa Raj, Srivalli, and Bhanwar Singh Shekawat respectively. The movie is scheduled to release in theatres on December 5.
