Calling them “baseless, misplaced, and devoid of facts” the Election Commission has rejected the allegations of the Congress Party over the irregularities in the Haryana Assembly Election 2024. In a letter written to the grand old party, the Election Commission asked it to refrain from baseless allegations election after election
The election regulator also criticised Congress for raising smoke of ‘generic’ doubts. It urged the party to take firm and concrete steps to curb such a tendency.
EC: Irresponsible Allegations At Sensitive Junctures
The ECI said the Mallikarjun Khage-led party that irresponsible allegations at sensitive junctures like polling and counting days can lead to public unrest, turbulence, and chaos. It cited five specific cases in the last year and asked the national party with long-standing experience to exercise due diligence and refrain from habitual attacks on electoral operations, without any evidence.
ECI: Least Expected
The Election Commission reacted to the Congress letter written earlier this month when the Congress sought clarification on the perceived lack of clarity on the display of 99% battery status on the Control Units of the EVMs a day after counting in some polling stations in at least 26 constituencies.
Rejecting the allegations, the ECI said the allegations were “baseless, misplaced and devoid of facts” and said it was “least expected” of a national political party.
