Actor and dancer Sai Pallavi is being heavily trolled on social media, with many asking others to boycott her. The hatred has spread so much that the hashtag #BoycottSaiPallavi is now trending on X. This started after the actor went to National War Memorial to promote her upcoming film – a Tamil biographical war drama Amaran. Also starring Sivakarthikeyan, the film is based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan – a commissioned officer in the Indian Army`s Rajput Regiment.
The actor shared few pictures from her visit and wrote a caption on the side that read, ““I wanted to visit the #NationalWarMemorial before starting the promotions for #Amaran. This sacred temple, houses thousands of “brick-like-tablets” in the memory of every Braveheart, who has laid down their lives for us. I was brimming with emotions while paying respect to Major Mukund Varadarajan AC (P) and Sepoy Vikram Singh SC (P) Gratitude and salutations”
The controversy erupts!
The post did not go well with the people, who dug her old interviews are found a clip from 2022. The video, which is not being circulated widely, Sai can be heard saying, “People in Pakistan think our army is a terrorist group. But for us, it is them. So, the perspective changes. I don’t understand violence.”
Sai used the example to explain that violence should not be the way out of any issue. She shared that any human, who has a little bit of empathy for others, should approach any and every situation with empathy rather than violence.
Even though the statement was made to express her stance against violence, it’s being blown out of proportion. “You Said Indian Army is terrorists. Now wait for your downfall even no one will go to watch your movies,” wrote one in the comment section. Another said, “I will make sure your movie gets immense backlash and boycott. You want to earn money by using Indian army and at the same time you will insult Indian army. We won’t let that happen. You will pay a heavy price.”
Fans Also Come Out In Support!
While majority trolled her, Sai’s fan did not leave her side. On X, they explained how it’s unfair to misuse a statement said 2 years ago, that too out of context. “”Dragging out a 2-year-old video and twisting her words shows how desperate some people are for drama. She is just taking about perspective of different people.Try learning the facts before jumping to conclusions,” commented one fan.
“Are you guys serious? Why not understand the context what some person is exactly trying to make? Why so much Hate towards #SaiPallavi ? She didn’t say anything wrong about our Indian Army And She’s against to Violence in general,” explained another fan.
