Israel’s attack on Iran has damaged facilities at a secretive military base southeast of the Iranian Capital and another base tied to its ballistic missile program, satellite photos analyzed by The Associated Press show reported. The military base in southeast has been linked by the experts in the past to Tehran’s nuclear programs. In Iran’s Parchin military base, some of the buildings are damaged; this is an area where the International Atomic Energy Agency suspects Iran in the past conducted test of high explosives which could trigger a nuclear weapon.
Other damages are seen at the nearby Khojir military base, which analysts believe hides an underground tunnel system and missile production sites.
However, Iran has not acknowledged any damage either at Khojir or Parchin military bases from Israel’s attack on Saturday. Iran’s mission to the United Nations did not respond to a request for comment. Israeli military declined to comment.
Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Sunday that the Israeli attack ‘should not be exaggerated nor downplayed,’ while stopping short of calling for an immediate retaliatory strike. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel’s strikes ‘severely harmed’ Iran and ‘achieved all its goals.’
On the damages caused by Israeli airstrikes on Iran, there has been no official confirmation. It’s unclear that how many sites in total have been damaged. Iran’s military has not released any statement or image.
Israel had conducted airstrikes against Iran on 25th October. Speaking about Israel’s operation, IDF Spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said, “I can now confirm that we have concluded the Israeli response to Iran’s attacks against Israel. We conducted targeted and precise strikes on military targets in Iran – thwarting immediate threats to the State of Israel.”
IDF said that in response to months of continuous attacks from the regime in Iran against the State of Israel—right now the Israel Defense Forces is conducting precise strikes on military targets in Iran. The regime in Iran and its proxies in the region have been relentlessly attacking Israel since October 7th—on seven fronts—including direct attacks from Iranian soil. Like every other sovereign country in the world, the State of Israel has the right and the duty to respond. Our defensive and offensive capabilities are fully mobilized. “We will do whatever necessary to defend the State of Israel and the people of Israel,” said Daniel Hagari.
