Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje has launched a scathing attack on Karnataka CM and Congress leader Siddaramaiah. She targeted Siddaramaiah over MUDA (Mysore Urban Development Authority) scam and corruption. Shobha called Karnataka CM a ‘culprit’. She cited reports of Karnataka High Court and Mysuru Lokayukta, who claimed that laws were bent. Reports of Mysuru Lokayukta said that Siddaramaiah has done wrong. She mentioned that Musyru DC had also issued report that there is corruption of Rs 1000 Crores in MUDA and it should be inquired.
Shobha questioned Siddaramaiah’s silence on MUDA scam issue. She said that even after all these reports, he doesn’t say anything. She raised question over Siddaramaiah’s decision to seek resignation of MUDA chairman and also the suspension and reinstatement of an officer.
She alleged that a fair investigation won’t be possible until he is in constitutional post. Speaking to ANI, she demanded resignation of Siddaramaiah as his presence would put pressure on the inquiry.
She claimed that more than 100 files of MUDA were brought to Bengaluru and burnt. She said that his wife, Parvathi should also be arrested and interrogated.
Siddaramaiah On MUDA Scam
Notably, Siddaramaiah had told reporters on Friday that everything will happen according to the law. “What should I do if ED raids on MUDA. What happens according to the law will happen,” he said.
How It came To Light?
The case had come to light after some activists alleged that Siddaramaiah’s wife was allocated 14 compensatory sites. It was said that Parvathi had received 14 sites in exchange for a 3.16 acre land. The plots were allocated to her By MUDA under 50:50 ratio.
ED had filed the case under Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). After ED’s action, Siddaramaiah’s wife had announced that she would return the 14 land sites to MUDA. On October 1, the Mysuru authority had taken back the 14 plots on October 1. Karnataka Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot had sanctioned the prosecution of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in MUDA scam case on October this year. He moved Karnataka High Court challenging the Governor’s sanction of prosecution, but his plea was dismissed by the High Court.
Currently, ED Officials have reached the MUDA office to investigate the MUDA scam.
