Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra feels that management has a tough task to pick up the playing XI for the very first T20I against Bangladesh as India has brought a group of promising talents from the Indian Premier League for the three-match T20I series.
IND Vs BAN: Who’ll Be Included In The Playing XI?
Three are in focus – Harshit Rana, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Mayank Yadav – each battling for their respective debuts. Besides, former T20I World No. 1 bowler Ravi Bishnoi and Washington Sundar also feature in the team. Chopra, on October 6, shared his views through social media and hinted Mayank Yadav will be in the mix for the playing XI since the seamer has been included in the squad from the IPL, despite having some injury issues. In the meantime, Varun Chakravarthy can also be a part of the team as Aakash recalled his impressive performance in IPL 2024.
“Interesting selection for the playing XI today. Since Mayank is fast-tracked, you play him. You don’t fast-track talent to warm the bench. Varun is back after 3 years. You don’t recall someone to sit on the sidelines either. That said…Bishnoi and Washington are ahead in the queue. Tough calls to be made” Aakash Chopra wrote on X.
India Vs Bangladesh, First T20I
Recently, Suryakumar Yadav announced the opening pair for 1st T20I in the pre-match press conference. He handed over the duty to open for Team India to Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma.
It is also likely that Mayank Yadav and Harshit Rana might be picked as the two fast bowling options.
Team India Full Squad: Suryakumar Yadav (c), Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson (w), Rinku Singh, Hardik Pandya, Ravi Bishnoi, Varun Chakravarthy, Jitesh Sharma, Arshdeep Singh, Mayank Yadav, Washington Sundar, Riyan Parag, Nitish Reddy, Tilak Varma, Harshit Rana.
