Ever since the announcement of Pushpa 2, audience have been eagerly awaiting news about the dance number in the film, and the actor who will feature in it. Several names have surfaced in the past few months, with Tripti Dimri being the latest one. In the first instalment, Samantha Ruth Prabhu gave an electrifying performance as she danced to the beats of ‘Oo Antava’.

There were reports the Animal actor, in fact, auditioned for the song and wanted to be part of the film. She had a great year, with back to back projects including ‘Bad Newz’, ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’, and wanted to wrap 2024 on high note. “Tripti Dimri, the current sensation in Bollywood, was keen on being a part of Pushpa 2: The Rule through an item song. She even auditioned for the same. The makers auditioned Triptii Dimri, but rejected her,” reported Times Now and News18 Showsha.

After Tripti failed to impress the makers, News24 has learnt that makers are contemplating Shraddha Kapoor’s name. A source close to the makers tells us, “Shraddha in on a roll. Her last film Stree 2, also starring Rajkummar Rao, has established her as one of the most bankable actors. She is a good dancer with a very strong fan base. Hence casting her can prove beneficial for the makers of Pusha 2.”

However, the team has not officially approached Shraddha yet. “Her name is being discussed internally among the makers. They have not approached her yet. After they reach a decision, Shraddha may be asked to audition just like Tripti,” the source further tells us.

Though Shraddha’s name has not been confirmed and makers are yet to release an official statement, it would be interesting to see Shraddha in Pushpa 2.

Meanwhile, we have been informed that the shoot of the film is over and it will release on December 6. Directed by Sukumar, the film will see Allu Arjun returning as the sandalwood smuggler.
