NTR Jr’s Devara revived back after a minor dip on its first Monday and earned approximately Rs 13.5 crore on Tuesday – Day 5 since its release. This takes the total to 186.5 crore (Nett). The film started strong with 82.5 crore on Friday, out of which Telugu version made 73.25 Crore, Hindi did Rs 7.5 crore, Kannada hardly managed to get Rs 0.35 crore, Tamil got Rs 1 crore and Malayalam stood at Rs 0.4 crore, as reported by Sacnilk. The film’s collection so far is Rs 186.85 crore.
Though Day 2 saw a fall by 53 per cent with film earning Rs 38.2 crore on Saturday and Rs 39.9 crore on Sunday, the film gave other movies a run for money. Now in its first week, the film is expected to see continuous growth, especially due to Gandhi Jayanti. The surge would be more evident in the Hindi speaking belt.
Worldwide Collection
Globally, the film grossed a total of Rs 172 crore (Net), making it NTR Jr’s second 100 crore opener after RRR, which was released in 2022. In the US alone, it garnered approximately ₹65 crore. The numbers increased rapidly over the weekend. The film earned a total of Rs 275 crore worldwide in its first weekend. And now, this number will likely reach the Rs 350 crore mark within this week, as predicted by several trade experts.
As reported earlier, Devara has been competing neck-and-neck with Hollywood films like Transformer One, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and Speak No Evil. Also starring Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor, the film became the first to second highest grossing film in its opening weekend.
About The Film
Devara’s consistent performance is a testament to NTR Jr’s star power and the film’s engaging storyline. Directed by Koratala Siva, Devara is an action-packed film that boasts larger-than-life scenes. While its offers entertainment at every point, the storyline falls weak after the first half. Janhvi Kapoor, whose name was marketed well by the makers, had a blink and miss appearance in the movie.
Devara will now return for its second instalment however, no official date has been announced by the makers yet.
