The Supreme Court  heard the petitions regarding allegations that ghee used to make laddus at Tirupati temple in Andhra Pradesh contained animal fat. The court questioned, why did the Chief Minister go to the media when a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe was already ordered.

It further noted that Gods should remain untouched by politics. The court expressed its opinion regarding the timing of CM Naidu’s announcement of a lab report indicating traces of fish oil, beef tallow, and lard in ghee.
