‘Devara’, starring Jr NTR in the titular role, has been one of the most awaited movie releases of the year. The movie has created immense hype among the fans and this excitement can be seen through its excellent advance booking numbers. Late-night and early-morning shows have been added due to huge demand for ‘Devara’. Our source has revealed that ‘Devara’ is eyeing a bumper opening across India but will especially perform well in Hyderabad.
Devara Advance Bookings Day 1:
‘Devara’ has already made Rs 32 crore in India with its advance bookings and the numbers can even go higher, depending on the response after the film’s release. Since ‘Devara’ is a Telugu movie, it is expected to perform exceptionally well in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana with most earnings likely to be garnered from the states.
In Hyderabad alone, the movie has already earned Rs 13.2 crore due to its impressive advance bookings with 1358 shows and 74 percent occupancy. Vizag, the city in Andhra Pradesh, has around 310 shows with a Rs 2.8 crore collection and an amazing 74 percent occupancy.
‘Devara’ has collected approximately Rs 27.68 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana with its bookings and has 61 percent occupancy. Meanwhile, Bengaluru and Karnataka will also garner good numbers for ‘Devara’ with Rs 3.42 crore and Rs 3.83 crore earnings respectively.
Apart from Jr NTR, the movie stars Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles in their Telugu debut.
Fans have high expectations from ‘Devara’ as Telugu cinema is known for making successful big-budgeted movies. Jr NTR was last seen in ‘RRR’, which is one of the most successful Indian movies of all time and the audience is hoping that ‘Devara’ will match that milestone.
Jr NTR, while speaking to Alia Bhatt and Karan Johar, praised Saif Ali Khan’s performance in ‘Devara’ and said that it reminded him of ‘Omkara’. Praising Saif, the actor said, “Saif’s character is…I don’t know I was so excited seeing him while watching the movie. I just remember that immediately when I saw the film and when I saw his performance, I went back to Omkara. He gives you that vibe and he was outstanding in that movie. I don’t remember when I actually saw him that fabulous.”
Saif Ali Khan earlier expressed his gratitude towards Jr NTR and the team of ‘Devara’ for welcoming him into the Telugu cinema with open arms and also praised the crew for being kind to him. He said, “Lovely people, I must say. Your unit and the crew – it was such a pleasure to work with everyone. So polite and kind – it was the nicest experience ever. Thank you for being so welcoming and amazing.”
Directed by Koratala Siva, the movie also stars Shruti Marathe, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko and Narain in supporting roles.
