Congress MP and leader of the opposition Rahul Gandhi slammed the central government while speaking on Kangana Ranaut’s remarks about repealing the farm laws. The former president of AICC posted a 43-second video on X (formerly called Twitter) hitting out at the ‘trait of the BJP’.
He said, “People of BJP keep testing ideas and to do that they ask someone to put the idea on the public platform to see the reaction. This time one of their MPs has done this. She had asked to revive the farm laws.”
Rahul Gandhi hits out at PM
Without mentioning Kangana Ranaut’s name, RaGa questioned the Modi government and particularly PM Narendra Modi on his stance on the farm laws. “Who is making decisions for government policy? A BJP MP or PM Modi?”, writes Gandhi in his tweet’s caption.
“Modi ji, you clarify. Are you against the farm laws or otherwise?”, asked Rahul in his video. He further stated that the PM should answer if he is going to revive the farm laws and if he is willing to do so, then he guarantees that the whole of the INDIA bloc will stand in its opposition.
Recalling the instance when mourning for those who died while protesting against the farm laws wasn’t allowed in the Parliament, Rahul further said that 700 people sacrificed their lives and Modi didn’t allow two minutes of mourn for them, he would always remember that.
Queen took a U-turn
Actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut invited yet another controversy while speaking at a religious fair on Monday. “I believe the repealed farm laws should be brought back. I understand it may become controversial, but I think these farmer-welfare-oriented laws should return. Farmers should demand these laws themselves”, she said. Comparing the farm laws with the simultaneous elections that are in debate currently, Kangana said, “I urge farmers with folded hands to ask for the reinstatement of these laws.”
After the actor’s statement stirred controversy, she took back her words stating that she should remember that she is not just an artist but also a BJP worker. The party sidelined her statement while other parties including INC and AAP strongly criticised her and sought the stance of the saffron brigade over her statement.
