Addressing a political rally in the Mendhar tehsil of the Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the assembly election in the Valley would put an end to the dynasty rule of three families – the Abdullah family, the Mufti family and the Nehru-Gandhi family.
‘Panchayat, Block elections wouldn’t have happened’
Hitting out at the rule of decades by the National Conference and People’s Democratic Party, Amit Shah said that these parties had stopped democracy and development in Jammu and Kashmir. “If Narendra Modi ji’s government had not come into power in 2014, then tell me would Panchayat elections have happened? Would block elections have happened? District elections have happened?”, asks the Home Minister to the public gathered at his rally.
Laptops to the hands of stone-pelters
Highlighting what the Valley went through from the 1990s to 2014, the Union Minister said that parties like NC and PDP had spread terrorism and hampered the growth of Jammu and Kashmir. Around 40 thousand youngsters died in this span, youth that had to work on their future became stone-pelters but none amongst these ruling parties stopped them or stopped terrorism. They rather boosted it. It was the Narendra Modi government that revamped the situation and started giving laptops to the hands that previously carried stones.
BJP habitual of dragging Pakistan
Backlashing at the NC Chief Farooq Abdullah, Amit Shah said, “Abdullah Sahab intimidates people that the Valley will be engulfed in terrorism. Today, I say standing in the Valley, I’m the Home Minister, Narendra Modi ji is the Prime Minister, no matter howsoever you want, we will not let terrorism enter the Kashmir Valley.”
On allegations of NC and Congress being praised by Pakistan over their stances on Article 370 and Jammu and Kashmir, NC Chief Farooq Abdullah said that the BJP is used to dragging and infusing the name of Pakistan to mold the debate. It is the only armament of the saffron brigade.
