Javelin star Neeraj Chopra missed the gold medal in the Diamond League by 1 centimeter and had to settle for the silver medal. In the competition at King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels, Neeraj Chopra fell behind Grenada’s Anderson Peters’ 87.87 throw by just one centimeter. Neeraj Chopra threw 87.86 meters in his third attempt. Julian Weber of Germany finished third with 85.97 meters.
Brilliant Performance From Anderson Peters
Neeraj Chopra missed the final title by just one centimeter and could not win the title. Anderson of Grenada won the javelin throw title with a throw of 87.87 meters. Neeraj made a total of 6 attempts but he was able to throw more than 85 only 3 times. However, he could not get ahead of Peters. Neeraj threw his best in the final round but he fell a little behind Peters and missed out on winning the title.
Anderson Wins His First Title
Anderson Peters won the Diamond title for the first time. He won the bronze medal in the Olympic Games held in Paris last month. Neeraj won silver in this event. While Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan created history by winning gold. Peters has also won the World Championship twice.
He did this feat in the year 2019 and the year 2022. Apart from this, he won a silver and a bronze medal in the Commonwealth Games. He has scored the best throw of his career at 93.07 meters.
