Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared  that the formation of the government in upcoming Jammu and Kashmir elections will be decided by the people of Jammu. While addressing the first BJP party workers’ meeting following the announcement of Assembly in the UT, Shah emphasized that its up to the people of Jammu to decide the government now.”

In his address, Shah also urged the youth of Kashmir to refrain from supporting the National Conference-Congress alliance, warning their vote could potentially bring militancy back.

BJP’s Previous Proposal For Jammu & Kashmir

The BJP had previously proposed that someone from the minority community of Jammu and Kashmir should be appointed as the Chief Minister of the Union Territory. It is noteworthy that if BJP will honor its promise to appoint a minority candidate as Chief Minister in J&K or their commitment will falter after the polls. The much-awaited results will reveal whether voters choose BJP on this pledge or turn to National Conference-Congress Alliance instead.

Amit Shah Attacks Congress-National Conference Alliance

Amit Shah came down heavily on Congress and National Conference on their claims that they will restore statehood. He further alleged that only the Central Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has the authority to deliver what’s promised.

He expressed his anger towards the fake promises made by Congress and said, “Stop fooling the people of Jammu and Kashmir.” He also mentioned about BJP’s pledge to grant statehood after the elections in the Parliament.
