After almost 9 months of on-and-off but successful air time, one of the most popular dance reality shows of the year, India’s Best Dancer had its finale today. Famously called IBD, the show was launched in February this year, however, was halted for a while due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After facing severe competition, Ajay Singh aka Tiger Pop, Mukul Gain, Subhranil Paul, Paramdeep Singh and Shweta Warrier became the finalists of the show. And after several nail-biting moments, India’s Best Dancer finally got its winner in Tiger Pop!
Malaika Arora, Terence Lewis, Geeta Kapur, who were the judges on the show, were seen cheering for the winner and the finalists. Bharti Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa were the show’s hosts. The judges of the show and the hosts had left no void to keep the audience entertained with their commentary, performances and on-set quirks.
The finale began at 8pm with the judges and many guest performers gracing the stage. Other contestants of the show, Rutuja Junnarkar, Raj Sharma, Akib, Sonal Vichare, Adnan Khan and a few more lit the stage with their power-packed performances too.
Soon after the show proceeded, hosts of the show, Bharti and Haarsh, informed the audience that the show had received over 3 crore votes! Terence applauded the same and expressed his happiness saying that it was a record-breaking number.
Popular dancers-actors, who, too, found fame via reality shows, Raghav Juyal and Dharmesh, also graced IBD. However, some of the key highlights of the grand finale were when contestant Mukul proposed to his girlfriend Sona and left everyone teary eyed. A pandit visited the sets and predicted everyone’s future. He also predicted that Geeta Kapur will get married to a guy who will always listen to her. He also shared that Bharti and Haarsh will welcome their first child after Holi and most likely, they are to welcome a baby boy.
The Kapil Sharma Show performer Krushna Abhishek too was spotted on the show as he made a stunning entry with Malaika Arora on Shah Rukh Khan’s hit number Chaiyya Chaiyya. Contestant Shweta received the ‘Dance Queen’ tag from Terence. On the other hand, upon Raghav’s request, her father performed the famous slow-mo and left everyone applauding for him.
The winner of IBD won prize money of Rs 15 lakh and a car.
