U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025: Team India To Kick Off Campaign Against West Indies, See Groups And Fixtures

India, the champions of the inaugural ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, will face hosts Malaysia, the West Indies, and Sri Lanka in Group A of the tournament’s second edition. The event is scheduled to take place from January 18 to February 2, 2025.

In Group B, Ireland, Pakistan, USA and England will be there. In Group C, the previous edition’s hosts South Africa are joined by New Zealand, new entrants Samoa, and a qualifier from Africa. Meanwhile, Group D features cricketing powerhouse Australia, Bangladesh, Scotland, and a qualifier from Asia.

Each team will play against the others in their group once, totaling three matches per team in the round-robin phase.

The top three teams from each of the four groups will move on to the Super Six stage.

Teams finishing at the bottom of Groups A and D, as well as Groups B and C, will compete in a last-place play-off on January 24.

In the Super Six stage, the 12 teams will be split into two groups. Group 1 will feature the top three teams from Groups A and D, while Group 2 will include the top three teams from Groups B and C.

In the Super Six stage, teams will carry forward their points, wins, and net run rates (NRRs) from matches played against other Super Six qualifiers. Each team will play two matches in this stage, facing opponents from the corresponding group that finished in different positions. For instance, the team finishing first in Group A (A1) will play against the second and third-placed teams from Group D (D2 and D3), and so forth.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, scheduled for January 31, with the final taking place on February 2, 2025.

All semi-finals and the final will be held at Bayuemas Oval. Should India reach the semi-finals, they will compete in Semi-Final 2, which is set for January 31 at 14:30 local time.

India will starting their U-19 WC campaign against West Indies

India defeated England to win the inaugural edition of the U-19 World Cup in South Africa last year. India will open their World Cup campaign against West Indies in the second edition of the ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup which is scheduled to be played in Malaysia.

February 1 is a reserve day for the semi-finals, and February 3 is a reserve day for the final.
