The Lamborghini Urus, already a standout in the luxury SUV segment, has now reached new heights with the introduction of the Urus SE. The model, which is the brand’s most successful globally and in India, has been upgraded with a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) powertrain. With a starting price of ₹4.57 crore (before options), the Urus SE marks Lamborghini’s first foray into electrification for this popular model.

Revamped Design And Enhanced Aerodynamics

While the Urus SE retains the iconic silhouette of its predecessor, there are several noticeable design enhancements. The bonnet has been redesigned to extend closer to the grille, which is also new along with the bumper. The headlights are slimmer and feature redesigned DRLs that almost encircle the lights. At the rear, the tailgate and LED taillights have been refreshed, and a new spoiler has been added. These changes contribute to a 35% increase in downforce and a 15% improvement in aerodynamics.

Electrified Powertrain Delivers Unmatched Performance

The most significant update in the Urus SE is its powertrain. The 4.0-litre twin-turbo engine has been electrified, transforming the Urus SE into a PHEV. The engine produces 620 hp and 800 Nm, while the electric motor, powered by a 25.9 kWh lithium-ion battery, adds an additional 189 hp and 483 Nm. This results in a combined power output of 800 hp and 950 Nm of torque. The Urus SE offers a pure electric range of 60 km with a top speed of 130 kmph in EV mode. The SUV can reach 100 kmph in just 3.4 seconds, with a top speed of 312 kmph.

New Drive Modes For Enhanced Versatility

Lamborghini has expanded the driving experience of the Urus SE by introducing seven new drive modes. In addition to the standard Strada, Sport, and Corsa modes, the Urus SE now includes three off-road modes—Neve, Terra, and Sabbia—and four additional modes: EV Drive, Hybrid, Recharge, and Performance. The Urus SE also comes standard with air suspension, ensuring a comfortable and adaptable ride across various terrains.

With these updates, the Lamborghini Urus SE is poised to continue its reign as the top choice for luxury SUV enthusiasts in India and around the world.
