Subedar Major Shailendra Bisht, younger brother of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and his family are facing serious threats, allegedly from Congress leader and Yamkeshwar district panchayat member.
Kotdwar police have responded by initiating legal action against the Congress leader, following a complaint filed by Bisht under various sections of the Indian Penal Code/Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
According to the Pauri Garhwal police, Shailendra Bisht, originally hailing from Panchur village in Yamkeshwar block, Pauri district, and currently residing in Kotdwar, approached the local police on July 11.
Bisht, who serves in the Army and is stationed in Kotdwar, detailed in his complaint an incident involving Congress leader Kranti Kapruwan. Bisht alleged that on June 16, Kapruwan posted defamatory content against his family on social media.
When Bisht contacted Kapruwan to request the post’s removal, he claims Kapruwan responded with verbal abuse and inappropriate behavior.
