‘Directors Cheated Me…’ Says Luv Sinha On Industry Struggles, Know More

Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter, Sonakshi Sinha, has garnered significant fame in the film industry, a success not mirrored by his son, Luv Sinha. Luv’s career began with the 2010 film ‘Sadiyan,’ followed by appearances in ‘Paltan’ and last year’s ‘Gadar 2.’ Despite a 14-year span, Luv has only three films to his name.

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Luv discussed his challenges in the industry and the perceived betrayal from directors and producers. When asked if he deserved more roles, Luv said, ‘I cannot answer this. Sometimes I feel that the industry can explain better why they did not give such opportunities… I believe that you should make yourself worthy of the opportunity and I deserve it. Despite that, sometimes I do not understand why the industry did not give me those opportunities.’

Luv emphasized he isn’t seeking lead roles but desires substantial supporting roles, including main villain parts, that allow him to showcase his talent. He revealed that his father, Shatrughan Sinha, never used his influence to get him roles, and his sister Sonakshi adhered to the same principle. ‘We believe in this, don’t ask anyone for work. Meet someone. Now it is in their hands whether to give work or not,’ Luv added.

Addressing his struggles, Luv recounted an incident with a prominent producer who assured him a role in his next film, even permitting Luv to announce it in the media. However, the film never materialized. Luv also shared experiences of directors promising meetings but subsequently ignoring his calls. He remarked, ‘I think it is okay. You do not have to meet me. It is your right, it is your right. But just tell me straight that no Luv, I do not want to work with you, I will not feel bad. This will save my time and yours too.’

Luv Sinha’s candid revelations shed light on the harsh realities faced by some in the Bollywood industry, contrasting sharply with the success stories often highlighted.
