Filmmaker-producer Aditya Chopra’s mother and Yash Chopra’s wife Pamela Chopra passed away on Thursday (April 20). Following the death of Pamela, actor Salman Khan has reportedly decided to cancel the special screening of his much-awaited film, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. According to the reports, the screening was supposed to take place in Mumbai on Thursday night but now it has been cancelled.
Salman Khan Cancels Screening Of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan
Following the sudden death of Pamela Chopra, actor Salman Khan has cancelled the special screening of his upcoming film, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on April 21, according to the ETimes report. The screening was supposed to take place on Thursday night at YRF Studios.
Notably, Salman Khan shares a cordial relationship with the Chopra family. He has also featured in several Yash Raj Films including Sultan, Tiger Zinda Hai, and others. Recently, he made a cameo in YRF’s Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan. He also has Yash Raj Films’ Tiger 3 along with Katrina Kaif in his pipeline.
A source close to the development told Bollywood Hungama, “The screening was supposed to take place tonight, incidentally in YRF Studios, and many people from the industry were expected to attend. After learning about Pamela ji’s death, the superstar instinctively decided to not go ahead with the premiere. After all, he has had a long association with the Chopra family. His upcoming film Tiger 3 is also backed by YRF.”
Pamela Chopra Passes Away
Pamela Chopra passed away on April 20 in Mumbai at the age of 74. The family issued a statement confirming the news of her death and conducted her last rites at 11 pm on Thursday.
The statement read, “With heavy hearts, the Chopra family would like to inform that Pamela Chopra, 74, passed away this morning. Her cremation took place at 11 am today in Mumbai. We are grateful for your prayers and the family would like to request for privacy in this moment of deep sadness and reflection.”
Pamela Chopra was hospitalised for 15 days for Pneumonia. Dr Prahlad Prabhudesai told Indian Express, “She passed away today. She was on a ventilator in Lilavati Hospital for 15 days. She had pneumonia.”
