After Rahul Gandhi, Congress leader Digvijay Singh lost his temper at a journalist during a press briefing in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior. An Aaj Tak reporter asked about the lack of youth representation in Congress, to which, Digvijay Singh replied, “How old is Modi ji?”
When the reporter pointed out that BJP is giving the front foot to its youth leaders and that they are the face of the party, Digvijay Singh countered, “Is Shivraj Singh the face of BJP? How old is he?” The Congress leader then went on to accuse the reporter of putting a dent in his esteemed media organisation’s reputation.
Responding to another question about Congress leaders losing their temper at media, Digvijay Singh quipped, “Have you ever questioned Modi ji? Has Modi ji ever conducted a press conference?”
Notably, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday lost his temper at a media person as he addressed his first press briefing after being convicted in the 2019 defamation case over his ‘Modi surname’ remarks and his subsequent disqualification as a Lok Sabha MP.
The former Congress chief lashed out at a reporter on being asked about his ‘why all thieves have Modi surname’ remarks he made during the 2019 Lok Sabha election campaign.
“Why are you working for the BJP directly? You should ask me the question in an indirect way. If you want to work for the BJP, put a BJP badge on your chest. Then I will answer you the same way answer others. Don’t pretend to be a pressman. Hawa nikla gai (he got scared),” he said during the press conference.
In the media briefing, Rahul Gandhi said that he will continue to defend the democratic voice of the people of India and that he was not scared of anyone.
“This is the whole drama that is been orchestrated to defend Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the simple question- Who’s Rs 20,000 crore went to Gautam Adani’s shell companies? I am not scared of these threats, disqualifications or prison sentences,” he said.
