The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) intensified its attack on Rahul Gandhi and compared the Congress MP to Mir Jafar on Tuesday. Addressing a press conference, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra launched a stinging attack on the Gandhi scion, saying that the “present day Mir Jafar of Indian politics has to apologise” for ‘insulting’ the people of India and the Parliament while delivering a speech at Cambridge University in London.
Unleashing a vociferous attack on Rahul Gandhi, Patra told the mediapersons that one needs to think why exactly the BJP is asking the Congress MP to apologise. He went to foreign country and asked foreign intervention in internal matters of India then obviously country will not accept this, the BJP spokesperson exhorted.
It’s the duty of the BJP to raise this issue. This is a consistent conspiracy by Congress and Gandhi family. Rahul Gandhi will have to apologise and we will ensure he will apologise to the country, the saffron party leader asserted.
Further attacking the Gandhi scion, Sambit Patra said that despite being a parliamentarian, Rahul Gandhi gave open invitation to the United States and the United Kingdom to intervene in our democracy. He said that there is no difference between Rahul and Mani Shankar Aiyar as the latter went to Pakistan and said Prime Minister Narendra Modi needs to be removed…another Congress leader Salman khurshid went to China and praised China and demeaned Indians.
Sambit Patra also heavily criticised Rahul Gandhi over his attendance in the Parliament. His (Rahul’s) attendance is 52 per cent…he is usually on foreign tours….his mic is on but attendance is off, the BJP spokesperson said.
Rahul Gandhi has only participated in six debates since 2019, he said.
