Pulwama martyrs’ widows claim they were abducted by Rajasthan Police, get Sachin Pilot’s support

The widows of Pulwama martyrs, who were killed in the 2019 terror attack in Pulwama, have been alleging assault and manhandling by the Rajasthan Police and have now claimed that they were abducted by cops while they were protesting against the state government. The widows of three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans have been observing an indefinite hunger strike seeking jobs for families and other government benefits.
The widows of Pulwama martyrs claimed that they were forcefullydetained and abducted by the Rajasthan police while they were protesting against the Congress-led state government over its unfulfilled promises. “If you can’t respect us, don’t disrespect,” Madhubala, a Pulwama martyr’s widow said, adding that they were forcefully taken to a place near Kota.
“I don’t know where I am, I was kidnapped. I am in a small hospital, somewhere in the middle of hills. I am not sick, I have been forcibly kidnapped and admitted to a hospital,” she broke down while speaking to Times Now. Further, she added that she will not keep quiet until she is alive and will fight till her last breath.

Sachin Pilot supports martyrs’ widows

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been backing the widows and now they have also found support from Rajasthan former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot who urged his own government to listen to their demands. He said that the government should respect sacrifices of martyrs.
“Politics on ‘Virangana’ (widows of soldiers who died in Pulwama attack) is wrong. It will send a wrong message. The issue of one-two job isn’t big, rules were amended earlier, and they can be amended further as well,” Pilot said while talking to the reporters on the second day of his visit to his constituency of Tonk on Saturday.
“We should try to listen to them peacefully and give answers that gives them satisfaction. We should do whatever work we can. This is a matter related to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, but till now there is no dialogue or way of the solution has been shown from there. However, nobody should play politics on this sensitive issue,” Pilot added.
On Friday, the protesting widows were removed from a site outside Congress MLA Sachin Pilot’s residence in Jaipur. They have been protesting since February 28 and launched an indefinite hunger strike six days ago, demanding a change in rules so that their relatives and not just children can get government jobs on compassionate grounds.
On Thursday, chief minister Ashok Gehlot asked whether it would be “appropriate” to give jobs to other relatives of the deceased jawans.
