Kriti Sanon has won many hearts with her latest films, such as Bhediya and Mimi, in which she played very powerful characters that are still considered to be her best. She was last seen in Shehzada, which failed to do well at the box office. Despite facing failure, Kriti has some good films in the pipeline, such as Adipurush, Ganapath, The Crew and so on. Recently, in an exclusive conversation with Zoom TV, the Heropanti star revealed that she has dealt with sexism in the industry.
Kriti Sanon calls herself ‘big feminist’
When asked if she has dealt with sexism in the industry, Kriti Sanon said, “I am a big feminist. I don’t understand why people think that feminism is going pro-female and anti-male. That’s not the actual definition of feminism. It is just all about wanting equal opportunities and treatment in every sector. It’s just equality. It’s something that bothers me. I am almost blunt and say out loud if I find something wrong.”
Kriti Sanon also revealed that one of her co-actors was given a different car and a different room while working on a film. She said, “The male actor was not a big actor, but I still saw a different car, and a room was given to him. I would be like, why?. Don’t make me feel like a small person, just because I am a woman. I feel now that people are changing and becoming more progressive. However, patriarchal society is not going to go completely away because it has been ingrained in our mentality for so long. I just feel, you have to take a stand for yourself.”
“A few days ago, I felt that I was not being treated equally. I felt that I was getting a lot of value. I know who and what I am. For me, if you are not treating me with the same respect, I don’t want to be a part of it. If the other person doesn’t value you, just don’t be there just because you are a woman. In life, you have to start valuing yourself. If you value yourself, other people will value you. I have realised that if you take bullsh*t, people will give you more,” the actress added.
Kriti on protecting her privacy
Kriti Sanon also said that she doesn’t want to open up about her personal life and would like to keep it private. She feels that people pass judgement very easily.
In a quick rapid fire, Kriti Sanon expressed her desire to share screen space with Vidya Balan. She also wants to produce films.
Talking about Kriti Sanon, she will next be seen in Adipurush opposite Prabhas, Ganapath opposite Tiger Shroff and The Crew alongside Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh.
