Tamil Nadu CM Stalin speaks to Nitish Kumar over alleged attacks on migrant workers, assures strict action against rumour mongers

 Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin  spoke to Bihar CM Nitish Kumar following rumours about alleged “attacks” on migrant workers. Stalin said that such people were “acting against India’s integrity”.
The Tamil Nadu CM also assured of strict legal action against those who deliberately spread rumours, post fake videos and pictures on social media and try to spread fear and panic in the state.
“I contacted Bihar CM and my brother Nitish Kumar on the phone and spoke about the issue. I assured him that all the workers are our workers who are helping for the development of Tamil Nadu. Therefore, I assured that none of these issue will impact them,” Stalin said in a press release.
Stalin added that those miscreants who were spreading fake videos of attacks on migrant labourers were trying to bring down the culture of Tamil Nadu and spoil the reputation of the state.
The Tamil Nadu CM asked migrant labourers need not to be afraid. He said that in case there is any threat, migrant workers should reach out to the helpline numbers – 94981-01320, 0421-297001
Stalin spoke to Kumar a day after the Bihar CM decided to send a team of senior state government officials to Tamil Nadu for looking into allegations of attacks on migrants. The leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Vijay Kumar Sinha, had a meeting with Kumar. After the meeting, Sinha claimed that the state government agreed to a proposal to also send an all-party delegation to the southern state.
On Thursday, Tamil Nadu Director General of Police C Sylendra Babu stated that the videos of alleged attacks on migrant labourers in the state that were being widely circulated on social media were “false”.
