SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR held its “world largest screening” on Wednesday (March 2) in Los Angeles, ahead of the 95th Academy Awards that is scheduled to take place this month. The screening was held at LA’s The Theatre at Ace Hotel, Downtown. The screening was attended by the RRR team including Rajamouli, superstar Ram Charan, and Naatu Naatu music composer MM Keeravani, who also has a live Q&A session with the audience.
1600 fans cheer for Ram Charan
In the video doing rounds on the internet, the host first calls MM Keeravaani on stage, followed by SS Rajamoli. But, when the host announced Ram Charan’s name, the audience was seen getting up from their seat and cheering the loudest for the superstar. Well, the love was all real and the video is too heart-warming to miss.
Long queue at Los Angeles screening
The film re-released in the USA this month and has been roaring, to say the least. The makers shared a video of the RRR screening in LA on their official handle, which features a long queue of people standing outside The Theatres. The caption reads, “A 1647-seater venue is sold out in Los Angeles, USA on the 342nd day of RRR release. It’s heartwarming to see the audience waiting in a long queue to get inside.”
According to the reports, the film, which has emerged as one of the biggest hits in India, as well as in the West, has sold more than 1600 tickets and the screenings have gone houseful.
Taking to the official Twitter handle of RRR, the makers announced, “Tomorrow, Los Angeles will witness the world’s largest RRR Movie screening yet. The 1647-seat show is already sold out, and SS Rajamouli MM Keeravaani and Ram Charan will be participating in a Q and A session.”
RRR at Oscars
RRR‘s song Naatu Naatu won the prestigious Golden Globes 2023 in the Best Original Song category. The film is competing for the Best Original Song category in the upcoming Oscars. The film has won several international awards including Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, New York Film Critics Circle, and Chicago Film Critics Association awards among others. RRR collected Rs 1200 crore at the box office and received rave reviews from audiences and critics alike.
