‘No tolerance for corruption…’: BJP welcomes SC order on Manish Sisodia’s plea in Delhi liquor policy scam

The Supreme Court  refused to entertain AAP leader and Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia’s plea to challenge his arrest by the CBI. The Top Court declined to interfere in the case and asked him to move to High Court.
“Why should we entertain this? You have a full remedy open. Why don’t you move to Delhi High Court?” said CJI Chandrachud.
“Just because any incident happened in Delhi, it doesn’t mean you have to come running here directly. There are other forums. There is a set hierarchy,” he added.

BJP reacts

Commenting on the Supreme Court order, BJP leader Amit Malviya said, “Manish Sisodia is the kingpin of this entire excise policy. He was the accused number one on CBI’s list. This is a big nexus that includes various political parties.”
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari hailed the decision by the Supreme Court and tweeted “Satyameva Jayate”.
BJP leader Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad addressed a press conference in New Delhi and welcomed the Supreme Court’s order. “This whole scandal (Delhi liquor policy scam)is a textbook case of corruption by AAP leaders who have a habit of handing out ‘certificates of honesty’. I have come to know that VIPs involved in liquor scams have changed hundreds of phones and even Sisodia changed his phone 16 times. This question is relevant because Sisodia and his leader Kejriwal used to distribute certificates of honesty,” said the BJP leader.
“You’ve shamed Anna Hazare, his legacy and the movement started by him,” added the BJP leader
“Narendra Modi government has zero tolerance for corruption, if you indulge in the same, you’ll face action,” he further said.
Notably, AAP leader and Delhi Deputy CM ‘Manish Sisodia on Tuesday moved to the Supreme Court to challenge his arrest. Sisodia was arrested on Sunday by the CBI and produced before a local court in the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy case in connection to irregularities and money laundering on Monday. He was sent to CBI custody till March 4.
