After Jin, BTS’ J-hope begins mandatory military enlistment process

Just a few days after his 29th birthday, BTS’ J-hope has shared an important announcement about his mandatory military enlistment. Revealing his intention to enlist soon, the BTS rapper’s label announced that they have applied for the termination of J-hope’s enlistment postponement.

Taking to Weverse, BTS’ label BIGHIT MUSIC announced they have begun J-hope’s military enlistment process by applying for the termination of his enlistment postponement. While the exact date of the Arson singer’s enlistment hasn’t been announced as of yet, BTS’ label has promised to keep fans updated.
“We will inform you of further updates in due course. We ask you for your continued love and support for J-hope until he completes his military service and safely returns. Our company will spare no effort in providing support for our artist,” the official statement read.
For the unversed, back in October 2022, BIGHIT MUSIC made the announcement that all seven members of BTS would be enlisting back-to-back so they could complete their service in a short span of time and be back as a full group by 2025. With Jin enlisting as an active duty soldier on December 13 last year, J-hope becomes the second member to join the military. While rumours about the group’s second eldest, Suga, doing his military service as a social service agent have been flying around, nothing has been confirmed.
One of the most active BTS members ever since the group announced that they would be focusing more on their solo careers in June last year, J-hope was the first BTS member to release a solo album. Dropping Jack in the Box in July last year, the rapper received numerous awards and accolades for his first solo album.
Aside from that, he has also been busy with performances at coveted events like Lollapalooza, MAMA awards and Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.
